How to Operate the Barrel Sauna (dry sauna instructions):

1. Please use the scheduling system above to reserve the sauna

2. Flip sign to occupied/knock to announce yourself before entering

3. Turn the timer to the desired time (60 minutes is standard). The time and thermostat are located on the exterior of the sauna to the left of the entrance door. You must lift the plastic cover up to use dials.

4. Turn the thermostat to the “10” setting to bring the sauna temperature up. This takes about 15 minutes to reach 100F. It takes about 30 minutes to get to 170F.

5. Take off shoes and leave them on the deck before entering sauna or wear slippers (single use flip-flops available in guest services)

6. Locate the wooden vent block inside of the sauna and become familiar with its use in the event you want to add more ventilation. This is located to the left of the entrance door.

7. When finished using the sauna, please turn the timer to the “off” position if there is time left and the heat to “0”

8. Please wipe down the used areas for the next guest.

9. On your exit please remember to turn the sign back to unoccupied

Other information:

Please do not wear shoes in the sauna, only disposable flip flops which are available in the guest services area

If you start to feel nauseous or ill, leave the sauna immediately. You enter the sauna at your own risk. Do not use drugs or alcohol with the sauna.

Ladle and water bucket available in the guest services area. These are used for wet sauna application. Please return after use.

This is a mixed sex sauna please use with respect. Please announce yourself before entering to make sure no one is currently inside. Please do not use with other guests outside of your party unless agreed upon beforehand by all other parties.

If you have never used a sauna or are unfamiliar with safety, benefits, risks, and general operation we recommend doing a google search to familiarize yourself with any questions you may have beforehand that have not been answered here.

The typical sauna user uses the sauna for less than 20 minutes at 170 degrees F.

Waiver of Liability

Saunas are inherently dangerous and risky with hazards that can cause injury or death. I agree to not enter the sauna unless I have purchased time and as a purchaser of sauna time, I agree, as a condition of being allowed to use the facilities of RiverCrest Villas, to freely accept and voluntarily assume all risks of property damage, personal injury, or death resulting from their inherent or any other risks or dangers. I RELEASE RiverCrest Villas, Nexus Investments, LLC its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY OF ANY KIND INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE which may result from conditions on or about the premises, operation of the sauna area or its facilities [sic] or from my participation in any and all sauna activities, accepting for myself the full and absolute responsibility for all damages or injury of any kind which may result from any cause. Further I agree that any claim which I bring against RiverCrest Villas, its officers, directors, employees or agents shall be brought only in Federal or State courts in the State of New Hampshire.
